Site specific/installation > The Suburbs Project

The Suburbs Project is an art project for Heritage Month 2021 about the suburban spaces of Clarence. Drawing on the expansive archives from Council and community, the exhibition will mix historical documentation and local stories with newly commissioned artworks by Lucy Hawthorne, Simon Cuthbert, Mary Scott, Nicole Robson and Sam Field, addressing the social questions and design aesthetics abundant in Clarence.

The project also aims to create an archive of how the city was made by the people that made it, inviting the audience to submit pictures and stories in the archive room at the Schoolhouse Gallery. History walks with Rob Braslin, kids workshops with Bec Stevens and public programs will run throughout the project.
